Their Faces

They’d forgotten their faces
The way they’d glow in the sun

Their faces
Once radiated sun beams
When they smiled

All they remembered
Were their shadows
The way they’d stretch
As if eager to spring out
In mischief

All they remembered
Was the empty darkness
The namelessness
The yawning void
That was all

Their faces
Radiating sun
Could no longer be recalled

Their faces collapsed to no more
Than haunting shadows
