Let the flame inside keep burning
Let the sparks around it fly
Watch the daylight as it’s fading
Count the stars across the sky

See the clouds as they are sailing
Feel the winds around them sigh
Watch the sea waves crashing, flailing
Hear the seagulls somber cry

Ask why you feel this yearning
Hear your heart beyond your lie
Lift your hands as your head’s turning
To The Lord above Most High

Write
Let your mind ignite
Set your heart alight
With the truth in sight

Fight
Setting forth with might
Vanquishing the night
With divine light

Tight
Anxious is this plight
Darkness at its height
Echoed waves of fright

Write
Let your soul be bright
Breaking free tonight
Things will be alright

Calm

I choose calm
Like still waters
Almost a sheen of glass
Reflecting the vastness above

I choose calm
Like the kindest breeze
Carrying clouds
Along kindred blue skies

I choose calm
Like the tempered sun
In the innocence of mornings
And embracing sunsets

I choose calm
Like a lovers voice
Cooing a thousand comforts
Shielding you from fear

I choose calm
Like the ease of the storm
The shade from burning sun
The water to a fire

I choose calm

Fear

You are a frenzy of fear..
Anguish twisted into knots
in your throat
in your stomach
in your limbs.

You dance
a dizzying limbo.
Your eyes evade
every hint of shadow.
Your feet stumble
unable to keep up.

Your ego has been seduced
by Satan’s sweet talk
because you are too soft
to take back the reigns
to your soul

Warmth

I swaddle my heart
In a cloak of resistance
The cold
Impresses its chill on upon me
I repel in persistence

My body unmoving
Frozen in icey touch
My lips
They tremble, sealed shut
I cannot feel much

Warmth pulsates inside me
Courses through my veins
Theres life
In my hidden world
Free of dire pains

There is feeling, emotion
A flame of fierce desire
To love
And persevere
With such determined fire

The Dark

Chaos broke loose
Trepid tides
crashed and swirled
with a funnel force
of ferocity

She was thrown
into its merciless mouth
devoured
by the pit of its
insatiated hunger

She was afraid of the dark
Mostly
the darkness in her soul
She always needed someone
To frighten the fear away

She lived searching for something she wasn’t even sure of
She knew that when she found it she would recognize it
She knew that a piece of her lay lodged in something
She longed for it back
Missed it dearly. She didn’t know what it was
Except that when she found it
Shed find peace
And the searching, sometimes frantic searching
Would come to an end

Find your flow
in the stream
of cosmic sounds
step through the doorways
of heaven’s mysteries
the cradle where all curiosities
come undone

* * *

Her thoughts meandered
like a leisured breeze
weaving themselves
around stray curiosities
